A special thank you goes out to Fox Home Ent Insiders for sponsoring the Kung Fu Panda DVD Giveaway and for the free printable!
While my kiddos were on winter vacation, we decided to watch the first 2 Kung Fu Panda films to prepare ourselves for the upcoming Kung Fu Panda 3 in Theaters January 29th.
We had such a fun time revisiting our favorite characters like the main Panda himself “PO” as well as Mr. Ping, Master Shifu, and the Furious Five.
Well to celebrate this upcoming film, Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment has released both Kung Fu Panda and Kung Fu Panda 2 in Digital HD, and Blu-ray™ and DVD with a bonus disc of new content.
Since we are definitely enthusiastic, “Skadoosh!!!” I went and made a Kung Fu Panda Chopstick Pouch Craft for my kids.
If you would like recreate it, here is what you will need:
Set of Chopsticks
12 in x 18 in Sheet of Red Foam
40 Inches of Red Parachute Cord
Single hole punch
Glue
Ruler
Scissors
Pencil
Printer
Printer Paper (I used a card stock)
First, clean the foam with a paper towel and dish soap and then dry. Next, lay your chopsticks on the foam longways and then fold the foam over. Once you get them placed, take your ruler and place a mark 3 inches across.
Then trace a line from the top and bottom and cut this out with the scissors.
From there, remove the chopsticks and use the hole punch to go along the outside of your pouch. I suggest 5 holes along each side and 2 through the bottom.
At the very top of the pouch only punch 2 holes in the middle on the inside, this is where the chopsticks will pass through.
You can give this over to your child to weave the Parachute Cord through and then tie off at the top. Tip: If your parachute cord is frayed at the ends, use a lighter to seal it off. This is only for adults to do and please use caution.
Have you seen both Kung Fu Panda Movies? Who is your favorite character in the stories?
To finish the craft, print out your activity sheet in the full page option and choose which “PO” you want to use on the front. Cut this out and glue it down.
Once it is dried, you can add your sticks and even a napkin. This Kung Fu Panda Chopstick Pouch is ready for dumplings and noodles just like “PO”! Lets just say, I can’t wait to make one of these for each of my kids for “at home” Chinese Food nights!
