Over on my site Frugal and Fun Mom I have discussed Weekly Meal Planning, and in the past I just wrote out what we would be having on a piece of paper. This meal plan was usually based on the items I picked up Buy One Get One Free at Publix.
Sometimes I would do this 2 weeks out, but usually it ended up being on a week to week basis. I definitely wasted paper and have not been as committed to this as I would like.
Now a friend of mine used to have an erasable meal planning frame on her wall, that she had created with a printable form and a glass picture frame. Ever since I saw that, I have been wanting to make one of my own and I finally did that very thing this week.
Keep in mind, there are plenty of free printable meal plans available online, and I encourage you to find one that works best for your family. I made one that the kids could write on with nice large handwriting lines, this is also a great way to Encourage Kids To Eat At Dinnertime.
I also visited the Dollar Tree and purchased a Certificate Frame that was big enough for a 8X10 sheet of paper.
To complete the Erasable Meal Planning Frame, I simply printed “This Week’s Meal Plan” Printable on the 8X10 option and placed it into the Certificate Frame. I then filled it out with a child’s washable marker and Erasable Markers will work as well. Tip: You may need to wet a paper towel to remove the writing.
I immediately put this to use by hanging it up underneath our family calendar, this way Hubby and the kids will know what to expect for dinner.
I don’t have the best handwriting, but I can read it and now I am encouraged again to prepare more homemade meals. Fingers crossed! I hope you find this Erasable Meal Planning Frame useful as well.
