I received National Geographic Kids The Book Of Heroes and The Book Of Heroines for free from Moms Meet (momsmeet.com), May Media Group LLC, who received it directly from the manufacturer. As a Moms Meet blogger, I agree to use this product and post my honest opinion on my blog. The opinions posted are my own.

If I can encourage my children to read as well as learn about positive figures in either fiction, from the past, or in the present, I am a happy MOM.

Well I actually did that very thing recently when I introduced my children to the National Geographic Kids The Book Of Heroes and The Book Of Heroines.

Now I grew up looking at National Geographic Magazines and really enjoyed the content. I appreciate the educational materials National Geographic Kids creates so I basically handed over both these books to my 10 year old and 8 year old, and asked them to explore each copy and share with me their favorite parts.

Let’s just say it was tough for them to switch books because they loved seeing familiar people and characters that they have learned about in school, seen on TV, or read about in books.

They also shared many of their favorite pages including Sacagawea pg.100 The Book Of Heroines, Harry Potter pg. 45 The Book Of Heroes, Martin Luther King Jr. pg 90-91 The Book Of Heroes, Princess Leia pgs. 76-77 The Book Of Heroines, Usain Bolt pg.37 The Book Of Heroes, and Annie Oakley pg. 84 The Book Of Heroines.

As a parent, I am happy to see that they enjoyed learning about people they can look up to (whether real or fictional) and I hope these stories inspire them to be future leaders.
