This line of products was developed by Elisabeth Hasselbeck after she became a Gluten-Free advocate. Through her own diagnosis of Celiac disease, she committed herself to raising awareness about this autoimmune disorder.
In May 2009, she brought the gluten-free lifestyle into the mainstream spotlight with her New York Times Best-Selling Book “The G-Free Diet: A Gluten-Free Survival Guide.” Elisabeth then entered into a new phase with the creation of NoGii certified gluten-free nutritional products for the entire family. As a sufferer of Crohn’s disease, I have heard that reducing gluten in my diet could help with symptoms. From personal experience, I can say that when I limit the amount of gluten bread/ pasta, or even switch to a thinner type of pizza, I feel less bloated and full.
Of course if I am going to try to bring a new product into my home, it is important that my husband and kids also enjoy it. We received a few varieties of bars to try as well as a protein mix. Our sampling included NoGii High Protein Bars, Super Protein Bars, Paleo Bars, Protein D’lites, and Protein Powder.
I love the enthusiasm that my family had when it came to trying out these products and my 6 year old and 9 year old really enjoyed the High Protein Bars. With 17 to 20 grams of Protein, these come in 4 flavors and they especially liked the Chocolate Mint.
My husband also liked these and enjoyed the Peanut Butter Chocolate Flavor.
As for myself and almost 3 year old, we really liked the Paleo Bars. They come in 3 flavors and we preferred the Nuts About Berries and Nuts About Tropical Fruit Flavors.
In addition, my little guy kept asking for the Protein D’lites in Chocolate Caramel Bliss flavor. I think he liked them because they came in a smaller portion. I also liked them because they are only 120 calories and easy to fit in my purse.
As for the Super Protein Bars, they have between 26 and 30 grams of protein and have a good flavor. They are a rather large serving, and I could see eating these after an intense work out. The Cookies & Creme flavor is super sweet and my kids and I ended up splitting it up for us to eat. In regards to the Protein Powder, again I think this would definitely be beneficial after an intense workout.
